Round table on Road Safety this coming Monday in Playas de Muro organized by PLEASE-Baleares in collaboration with Garden Hotels and the Playas de Muro Hotel Association.
October 2024
At 5:30 p.m. this coming Monday, October 7, 2024, and at the Garden Holiday Village hotel (c/Circuit del Llac, s/n. Playas de Muro), a Round Table on Road Safety will take place that will bring together representatives of Balearic entities related to road safety on our roads.
The event, presented and moderated by the Secretary General of PLEASE, Iñaki Miranda, will be attended by Antoni Cánovas, Road Safety Expert, Paco Cuenca, President of the Board of Directors of the Balearic Cycling Federation, Bernardo   He rranz, security technician and professional driver of heavy vehicles, and Toni Carrió, sergeant of the Muro Local Police.

With the aim of contributing to the reduction of accidents on the roads of the Balearic Islands, PLEASE-Baleares has proposed to organise a specific conference on the subject with the main actors in the sector this coming Monday, in order to put on the table all those factors or solutions that should be proposed to the institutions responsible for road traffic in the Balearic Islands, in addition to improving and eliminating all those black spots that still appear on the maps of the islands. In particular, the hotel zone of Playas de Muro, as well as the adjacent area from Port d'Alcudia to Ca'n Picafort, is currently a very busy strip of the Mallorcan coast during the high season months by pedestrians, cyclists and cars, as well as coaches and heavy vehicles, so it is very important for the hotel and tourism sector in general to provide practices that improve all those aspects related to road safety.
PLEASE-Baleares also values the efforts of the administration in general, and especially of the Consell Insular de Mallorca, in improving the main sections of roads with the highest traffic on the island, such as the start of all those road improvement works such as the final section of the second beltway of Palma to the Fan complex or the renovation of those roads in poor condition on the busiest motorways, dual carriageways and roads.
